EPOXY VERSUS POLYUREA
EPOXY: Considered the main base for resinous flooring industry. Epoxy has been used for over 60 years as the primary component in concrete coating systems. Still a very good coating in specific situations. A very cost effective system for industrial and commercial coatings. Stability to UV rays varies with product levels, no epoxy is 100% UV stable and will break down, fade, yellow over time.
POLYUREA: The latest advancement in coating technology. Used in industry for over 25 years. Polyurea is stronger yet more flexible than epoxy. Completely UV stable resulting in a long lasting clear coat that resists chemicals and scratching far better than epoxy. Polyurea provides faster cure times to allow the floor to be opened back up to traffic much faster. With low VOC’s and UV stability polyurea is the top choice for both interior and exterior applications.
